I've had this same thing happen with instant film but i just figured it was a glitch. If it's reproducible, it could be the new XPro for Instax/instant films :D It sure makes for a cool shot, this effect!

I was curious what would happen if one of these was inverted. The result when inverted of your shot above @schugger (sorry, I just snapped it off screen to invert for funsies) is pretty cool. It looks like Xpro'd expired film. Cool stuff. Now I want to try it! :D

wow - great idea @alienmeatsack! I need to try that by myself! The effect seems to happen reproducible when using close-up & flash & instax film - thats at least what @dopa found out. I believe I´ll be using it for the future but here it was only accidental...like your lightpainting ;-)

the effect was first mentioned (as I know) 2011 after the use of the LC-W + Flash + Instantback without the internal correction lens (www.fuzzyeyeballs.com/blog/?p=4875)
