During my brother @vicuna's stay during the last Christmas holidays, we had a nice tour of the La Gimond dam lake. At Christmas, we took advantage of a beautiful day to take portraits, in particular of my daughter @lomomargot and of her best friend Cassiopée. Tzelefos bridge is a magical place, just 45 minutes drive from Limassol. A fairy tale old stone bridge, surrounded by beautiful trees and rivers. We went photoshooting with friends and I took the opportunity for these 8 instants.
Poros is a small island very close to Athens, ideal for weekends. Luckily, I have a friend who lives there and I visit her from time to time. These shots were taken at the beginning of August 2017, with my Minolta Dynax 505 and a Fuji Superia 200 iso.
All of the images I have uploaded to the site have been hand printed using traditional darkroom procedures. One of the challenges I am currently facing is a reliable (and cost effective) scanning solution. This image was scanned using a Haldex PrintScan. The results are acceptable but I have found the device to be unreliable and for the most part, unpredictable. As for the image itself, basically a snapshot taken during a local Christmas Pageant using a popular point and shoot 35mm camera.
I have always struggled with black and white photography. Trying to capture a successful image in our dearly loved grayscale can be quite challenging at best. After completing the ‘Fumbling In The Dark[Room]’ album and gaining a little more confidence in black and white photography, I began to focus my lens on subjects that I would have previously photographed principally only in colour. The image here of the spring roadside flowers in full bloom, has been transformed delightfully to the simple tones of black and white.
