Two and a half years later, she went up to be one of best Lomographers in the Community. Aren’t we glad our LomoGuru of the Week Paola Cognigni or puppettina chose to stay and share her fantastic film photographs with us?

Tell us something about yourself.
My name is Paola. I am 29 and I live in a small town by the sea on the Lazio/Tuscany border. I studied performing arts in Rome but I’m a full time barmaid. Also, I hold photography workshops for kids on Saturdays. I have a lot of artistic interests but the most important one is photography.
Tell us something about your LomoHome’s name.
I hate my LomoHome name! I don’t know why I chose that! Initially, my account is just for the online store and not to be part of the Community. If I can, I would like to change it in AnalogicaMente which means Analog-Mind.
Share with us your most memorable experience in the Community.
My most remarkable experience in the Community? When one of my shots was selected for Photo of the Day. It was a double exposure representing my beloved town inside my big face!
Have you actually met people in the Community that you now consider as close friends? If yes, name at least one of them.
It’s easy to meet other people in the Community, but at the moment only through their shots. The photographer I appreciate the most is cryboy for his infectious craziness and for the mutual admiration.
In September 2012, I had the chance to take part on his film-swap project entitled “CRYBOY LOVES EVERYONE.” It was great!
Do you think you’ll still be taking Lomographs in the next 5 years? Why?
Yes, I think I’ll be shooting Lomographs for a long time, as long as my eyes can still see and my index finger can still push that button. It just makes me so happy!
What is your favorite Lomography camera and why? Do you have any memorable experiences using this camera?
My favorite Lomography camera is Lubitel 166B. It was love at first sight! I love half frame. Double exposure with this camera gives me satisfaction!
Please share with us your favorite Lomographic shot and explain why you love that particular image.
It’s hard to choose just one picture! I surely love portraits because they tell more than landscapes so I choose this photos of Dunbo in puppet arms. The puppet is a creation of my sister. They are both toys but they seem able to speak!
Please share a Lomograph you wish you had taken and explain why.
One of the picture I love has been shot by atria007. Her holgaramamadness album is incredible!
I really like these long and colorful shots taken in Naples with other Italian Lomographers goonies, ironsymphony and zorzyo. Every time I see it I cannot help but think, "How the hell did she shot this one?I
What’s the best Lomographic or photography advice you think you have given?
The best advice I’ve been given is to take risk every time you want to take a picture and be happy to do it!
If there’s one song or movie that best describes your Lomo life, which one is it and why?
I choose The Ramones version of I Don’t Wanna Grow Up to describe my Lomo life.
I believe it’s the right song to remind myself of my freedom to express!
Is there any advice you can give to new analogue shooters?
It’s more a wish than a suggestion. I hope everybody will go by what André Kertész, one of my favorite photographers, have said: “The camera is my tool. Through it, I give a reason to everything around me”.
