Godzilla

One of the great heroes of mine surely is Godzilla. The big fellow from the seaside, who was created through atomic pollution by American evildoers in Japan. Hence Japan was bombed by A-bombs the whole multitude of nuclear pollution was a very relevant dramatic element.
The character was created in 1950s and was instantly a major success in the Japanese Cinema. This is grand B-Movie-History. Up to date there have been 28 movies made and the next big thing lingers around the corner. Rumors say, that there will be another epic Japanese G-Film soon.
Godzilla was played by an actor in a costume and his moves are so refreshingly unsmooth that it is a joy to watch. The best part is his scream though. The very high creaky-scream was especially composed by rubbing a resin rubber glove over the strings of a contrabass. He turned from evil to good and vice versa. He is more or less like a lucha libre wrestler entertaining with the twists in his persona. The undying love for Godzilla around the world is very impressive, there are collectors getting every single bit and the las Godzilla-Movie in 2004 earned the studio about 10 million Dollars. He also got a star on the walk of fame in Hollywood. But now hold your breath, there is also a wikizilla-page. A wikepedia-subpage dedicated to the J-Freak-Zillaman.
But how do you meet him? I found him, and I tell you it was not so easy. There is a great, but tiny statue of this hero in the Ginza district of Tokyo.
You will have to take the Ginza-Line to Hibiya and then go straight on Harumi-Dori in the direction of Ginza-Station. Then you turn right at the second big crossroad and got to the cinema district. There it is and the sign on the statue warns the Tokyo citizens, that he will return. There are also some tiny Hand- and Footprints of famous actors around the Zilla. Certainly a worthwhile spot. I took several cams and spent
