How I turned an iPhone into an aPhone...

I shot a whole roll of shots of an iPhone on my computer screen (see top shot here), then rewound, reloaded and shot the second layer of shots with my daughter in the park. The Samsung shot shown at the bottom here is the magazine ad that inspired this project.

Great project! I really must practice with aligning my film properly and try this. Whenever I want to shoot a film twice (in EBS for instance), the shots never quite align, even though I mark the film...

@stratski Yes, aligning is pretty tricky, but I've developed a little trick that helps: I tape a 15cm strip of old negative to the take-up spool, wind once, then tape my new film leader onto that and use a thin permanent marker to mark the new film at the left side of the picture frame, wind on once again and make another mark at the left side of the frame before closing the back. That way, I have two markers when it comes to reloading: one to align the film initially, and the second one to make sure the alignment is still correct when I close the back. If it's not, I can release the film at this stage and redo it until it aligns perfectly. Obviously, this only works with non-motorized cameras, like my Pentax cams and Horizon Perfekt. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tip! I'll try that.

@stratski P.S. This technique allows you to get at least one extra shot - sometimes two - out of the roll too...!

@hervinsyah: Good point! Actually, I have the Samsung phone in the photo here, but mine's black, so it wouldn't have worked for this project :-)
