Even when you see these pylons from a distance they look vast, monumental and imposing. No surprise then that when you get right underneath, close enough to touch it, the things are simply colossal. Found this one in the Wat Tyler Country Park in Pitsea, Essex. To give you some idea of just how tall it is, see those tiny dots on some of the wires at the top? That's a flock of starlings taking advantage of what must be some impressive vews of the surrounding countryside.
