Zorki 1955 camera self-portrait

This now is my main camera - it uses rangefinder to help setting up lens for distance. They were slightly improved clones of FED soviet cameras, which in turn were clones of Leica II devices. This one is of 1955 and had its fabric shutter somewhat imperfect so it took some time to find repair shop. It is still not completely perfect but much better. "Zorki" means "keen, sharp-sighted" - though it is not about camera, rather it was a call-sign of the factory during WW2. #35mm #blackandwhite #camera #oldcamera #vintagecamera #zorki #history

Those Jupiter lenses are pretty sharp; they can capture imagery.

@neufotomacher I'm afraid this one is not Jupiter (like on yours more advanced model) but very "initial" collapsible (retractable) lens, copied from Leica original. Though probably I'll follow your advice and try finding Jupiter-8 for comparison. Or even Jupiter-3 which boasts F/2.0, though they are well priced even nowadays :)
