wow!!! this photo seems really "unreal".
i think its because of the bokeh effect or something....

i've also taken a photo of this cow thingy!

@shariff I thought it was due to the vignetting! Haha cows everywhere in Singapore :D

    OH! OH!!!!!
    I THINK I KNOW NOW!!!!!

i think its because of the tonal difference between the cow and everything else.

the cow is this really saturated blue!!! whilst the grass and everything around it seems like a lighter and more faded shade of everything else..... which is why i feel makes the cow look as if it doesnt belong in this photo! if you know what i mean.... hehe :)

very interesting looking shot i feel!

@shariff hmmm that's a good point! I took the picture under full afternoon sun, so that explains the washed-out background grass. The cow is actually slightly backlit! So that's why it was in a deeper colour :)

    @aoizumi

    the cow was back lit?
    like how?
you mean from the glare of the sun or something?

yes! good point on teh washed out backgrounds!!!
i wasnt too aware of how that came about cos i very rarely take pictures during the daytime, especially when its really hot or sunny. :)

@shariff The cow's shadow (quite faint since it was a very sunny day) stretches in front of it towards the viewer, so the light source must be behind it! It might even be that the cow is leaning forward slightly, causing the shadow. All I remember was that it was hot and that I wanted to take a photo and get into shade :P

    ahahaaha... you'r really funny!
yes!!!! me too!!! that's why i always try avoiding taking photos during the daytime, in singapore at least!!!
cos its so darn bloody hot you can help sweating loads!!!!!!!! its really wayyyy uncool!!!!

but you're absolutely right about the shadow!!!!

and by the way, you know what the funny thing is? my cow was also back lit!!!!! and its almost about from the same position as your's... though by a brightly lit street lamp, hence that harsh shadow.

    hehe.
    this is really interesting!
our photos are really similar! just that they're taken at different times of the day! cool!
    though, i think i like your's better~!

@shariff haha especially nowadays with the haze righhht :(
Your cow looks like it was lit by floodlight by the way you've used flash, light from the street lamp and long exposure!
I'm guessing that there'll be lots of sg photographers with photos of random cows in this cow-less city heehee

aww mann... dont get me started with the haze!!!!!
when i was at the lomo store just now, that kenneth guy told me that it was really bad at ard 160 something psi.
and just a min ago, i just got a text from my friend saying its gone up to 321psi.
i mean, like WHUUT!?!?! 321?!!!!! is that even possible??!!!!! cos thats crazy high!~
i just cant stand that smokey burnt smell every time i'm inhaling... its just terrible!
with the haze, singapore kinda looks just like china i feel... hehehe. dusty and all...

hahaha. i actually wanted to take a photo of one of the pink cows...
but i took the blue one in the end cos of the street light and how it was back it.
i just love lights and shadows! interesting stuff!

    ^_^

@shariff I'm quite tempted to go out and do street photography in this haze. Might make for an interesting backdrop! It dropped back to 281 the last I checked... But oh man I'm going to get permanent lung damage at this rate :X
I really like your nighttime long exposures! Hope to see more :)

    @aoizumi

i was caught in a rather unlucky situation just now...on the way to get my lc-a+.
i was from orchard, on the train towards dhoby ghaut....and walked over to the purple line to get to china town station... but the train just had to break down...for some reason....

so i had to walk from dhoby ghaut mrt all the way to china town in the freakin haze,,,,perhaps at its worst... at 321psi? i dont know.... looked pretty bad just now....
    and it sure was unpleasant!

but yes!!!! the scenes felt new, and was "refreshingly" different....
then again.... i dont think its worth it....
    hahahha...lung damage....

    thanks for the compliments!!!
    though,
the last two films that i sent for development were actually ilford 3200 bnw...
used on my holga.... mostly for fast night time scenes....
dont know how they will turn out though... gotta wait two weeks since i sent it to be developed at the lomo store..... :(

oh and i'm currently shooting an asa800 colour neg on my new lc-a+.
now on the 33rd frame! gonna finish it soon i suppose,,,

no long exposures for my last 3 rolls though they're mostly night scenes!
    :D
