Capital Theater

Brigham City “Peach Days” events. Shot with 1956 Speed Graphic with 90mm Optar lens. Shot on Fuji Instax Wide film with the Lomograflok. f/32 at 1/ 125 ISO 800. This lens with the proper focusing cam is just a blast to shoot on this camera, especially when it is adjusted for the Instax. First time I’ve had this much fun shooting in public. Everyone was curious or complimentary about the camera. Funny that normal cameras can make people a tad uncomfortable but for some reason this camera just makes them curious, and they want to participate in the fun.

funny you mentioned people's response to those large graflex cameras. whenever I dragged out the graflex 4x5 people were very interested always asking questions, something about the curiosity makes folks more comfortable? Perhaps the obviousness of such a large camera for some odd reason put folks at ease, even though people are surreptitiously photographed on cellphones and don't even know it!

@heliossstardeath yes I thought it was an interesting phenomenon. which is good because carting the speed graphic around feels kind of foolish.
