Ghosting out of Gretna.

Here's a bit of darkroom jiggery pokery. Gretna Green is famous worldwide as a place where couples would elope and get married quickly. I had amongst my collection of 1920s negatives this one of the building but it was missing a happy couple so I took the negative of my cousins wedding and excuse the pun 'I married them together'. A bit of fun and fantasy in this dark time.

@lomodesbro thanks Des, I enjoy making these little mash ups. I like the control, so much more satisfying when you find negatives that work together than a double exposure. They aren't that easy though, ideally one needs some negative space to work with on the background negative, ditto the subject in that they are best if shot against a plain background otherwise things can get a bit messy. Straight prints aren't possible, some heavy dodging and burning is always needed. For me the best thing is combining two eras, these two are the best part of a century apart! Glad you appreciate it😀
