    Like the red car. Had the 1975 version of it in my youth.

    @charliedontsurf @sierravictor - yes in Germany it was marketed as Ford Taunus - this model, if I am not mistaken, was the last out of the Taunus series.(replaced by the Sierra).

    @charliedontsurf @sierravictor - correction: the shown model was not the last Taunus (Cortina MkII in UK) - there were two further facelifts and the production in Europe ceased in 1984 to be replaced by the Ford Sierra : sco.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Taunus#Taunus_Mark_III_(1976%E2…

    @sierravictor the later model which came out in 1977 was the mk 4 cortina. My dad had a silver one after his Vauxhall victor turned to dust ( rust).

    @charliedontsurf I also bought a 1978-model from my brother, the type you mention in 1996. It had the 2.0L engine. My 1975-model Cortina/Taunus had 75 bhp. It was enough power because I didn't know any better in those days. Imagine that, it was also sold with a 1.3L engine with 56 bhp... (mk III).

    @charliedontsurf 2.0L had 100bhp.

    @sierravictor yes, dad's was a 2.0GL. I learnt to drive in it! After passing my test I took it for a drive one day without his permission and about 20 miles from home the cam belt snapped! End of ford cortina :(

    @charliedontsurf Had my 1975 model Cortina/ Taunus stolen in 1993. Alternator was hanging on one of two bolts, cambelt was halftorn off. The thief can't have driven far before it broke down. I was lucky nothing that couldn't be fixed was broken. I replaced the alternator suspension and the cambelt and it was good to go. In 1996 someone broke into my 1978 model Taunus looking for my stereo. Luckily for me it was that kind I could take out of the dashboard easily so I had it stored in my flat. That time they didn't drive it away luckily.
