The Botanical Garden in Berlin-Dahlem

4

The Botanical Garden in Berlin offers a wide variety of plants from all over the world and is an ideal place to relax on sunny days and to escape from the busy city.

The Botanical Garden in Berlin-Dahlem has an area of 43 ha, 22,000 different plant species, a 13 ha plant geography section, a 14 ha arboretum (collection of trees), a museum, and greenhouses with a surface area of a total of 6000 m2, offering plenty of room for exploration. A variety of birds are living and chirping in the greenhouses as well, giving you the impression of being in the middle of the rainforest. I was lucky to watch a zebra finch building a nest! The garden is ideal for people who are looking for beautiful scenery, are interested in botany or just want to relax and have a walk, to flee from the busy city.

This building is called "Bierpinsel" (literally "beerbrush"), because once there was a bar in it and because it looks like a brush.
