   nice photo! how do you manage to scan the photos with sprockets? When I try that my scanner automatically brightens up the picture to an useless amount. When I select only the photo without the sprockets it all works well. If you knew a trick that you would kindly share with me I'd me more than thankful :)

   @lalouve - Actually, you have the right of it. I frame the part that I want to use to set exposure to lock it in and re-frame out to what I want to scan. I don't know what software allows this type of manual control and what doesn't but I happen to use Silverfast.
