@neneohcs no process after the lab, it's straight from the film. I guess that film did not lived well the expiration. Plus I might have underestimate winter's light darkness. It was not what I expected (in darkness) but in all that, I like how it ended :)

i sometime think, that if i had the scan under my surveillance, i would take different decisions in "catching the film" - detail-scanning is an art-form too, i guess - but i let the lab do that work and i trust the guy who does it and had some chats with him about that...
as i started years ago, really analog with a little darkroom of my own, i was used to look at my "failed fotos" and tried to make the best of it - in the print ...
    good metering is a learning! or a technological-automatic ....
and the incredible "light situation" in this special shot is so far out! by the way, i love the little green in the corner and the lense-effect!
it is a the wonderful minolta xg1, (i just read about - me i have an xd7) ...
but those camera are before matrix metering . that (ma.me.) took nearly away all that measuring problems ....
in short: - for these kind of fotos i process a little more in my softwares: either lightroom and/or photos from mac...
i look into the white/black-point of the histogramms, try to broaden it and sometimes i look into the shades and light
    - but mostly working on the the contrast does nice work .. it is all quite delicate, tiny adjustments, which make a great output for me.
you could also get a total different color-measuring if you would adjust the white-balance in the software .... well that are just decisions to take or not to take ...
i do not want to drag you into a discussion, but hope that you share that interest...
:-)) i always enjoy your fotos!

@neneohcs I do think also that the camera could be low battery also, or might need some check up if light meter is down ? The lab is a good one so I trust them on processing. I am not so sure about the camera or my sensitivity of light. I have several films of the same kind, I really hope it cas because of that one can !

I think the camera metered for light more, than from the shadows.
    do you remember aperture/shutter setting?
the colors seem all there .... likable. ...
you did only share a few pics of that film in your album...
