Glacier de Moiry

I chose this picture first because it shows clearly how much the glacier retracted, mainly in the last 100 years, it's quite sad to see. On average it loses almost 2 meters of thickness per year. Still an incredible sight

    @stevejack0 Yes, it's really crazy to see. Glaciers retracting is fairly normal and happened continuously throughout the last few thousand years, but the speed at which they perish now is just unseen. Probably in 30 years, there won't be any glaciers anymore in the European alps. Just started scouting for a new video project of mine about Water in Europe Winter 2021/ Summer 2022

    @montagu I remember visiting the Mer de Glace some 30 years ago. I was shocked to see what it had become.
