how do you do double exposure with the AE 1? I'm trying with mine :/ thank you!

1- take a picture
2- re-engage (press the rewind button below in the same time)
The film doesn't advance
3-Take the second photo
4-When you re-engage after that, the film doesn't turn (I don't know why...); so, I put the camera cap and press the shutter in the dark (dark room or under my sweater !!)
5-Re-engage for the next photo
Don't hesitate if you have further questions, and if it's not clear, and excuse me for my english !!!!

Thank you so much!!! I tried this the other day! I didn't knew it was an actual way to do it. The only thing is that in the picture counter it says you've taken another picture when its actually the double exposure so i have to be sure how many pictures i've taken?
