   The boiler, I guess, is what I almost called a tower. I was thinking the tower etched the clouds, or something like that, but thought that might not be a tower. My vanity . . .

   This is an engine house which contained a steam powered beam engine to lift water from the underground workings. The tower is the chimney for the firebox. There are many such in Cornwall, most are crumbling.
