This is my first film swap, which I performed with @mimi8909. We choose to investigate the Ma (間) concept. At the most basic interpretation Ma can be intended as “negative space", or as an “interval”, the “something among”. However, this concept can be explored in many ways. In this case, I think that Ma does not only occur in what we caught on film. Ma was also generated by our differences in philosophical view, aesthetic perception and so on in the countless intervals between the two photographers: time, space, cosmic rays! Moreover, it will be generated in the even more intervals that occur among us and you that will observe these shots.

During the shooting, for me it was very difficult to image the resulting quintessence, but the unpredictability made it even more interesting! I wanted to find Ma in different spaces (negative spaces!), for example in both urban and natural contexts, researching the same thing (non-thing!) in different contexts, in a dualistic monism.

I hope that these shots can let you see something “among”, in your own way. In this case, the goal of the project was accomplished. Feel free to leave a comment about!
