This are some shots that have been laying on top of my desk for weeks, are from a project that went wrong. None of them came out as intended. Still I wanna share it..
We spent two weeks in Estonia this summer. First time daring to leave Tallinn area we visited Saaremaa and Pärnu and made a short trip to Kihnu island as well. Beautiful nature and idyllic country villages, sadly weather was only slightly better than in Finland...
I'm a big fan of Cokin filters. Mostly because I was given so many and so many of their promotional booklets. They have all kinds of filters for doing multiple exposures. The one I used here is the Double Mask A 342. Two filters One with a black dot on clear resin. The other a All black filter is a little hole. In the booklets they recommend (in the 80's) you take a projector and photo graph slides you already had in order to create special effects. I just used a 32" screen.
hodachrome and I have recently completed two film soup swaps.. One roll started off in UK, and ended up in Japan and on finishing the roll, Hodaka cooked the film using this recipe here: http://www.lomography.com/magazine/tipster/2013/02/27/lets-cook-the-film-the-recipe-of-film-soup
The other roll started off in Japan and ended up with me in the UK.. On completing the roll, I mixed together some boiled water with silica gel and washing detergent, and left it to cool a little. Then I went into my make-shift darkroom and pulled out the film from the canister. Next I flicked and dabbed the soup onto the exposed film. I waited for a few minutes and then rewound the film into the canister. Afterwards I went to the kitchen and dropped the film into just-boiled water, and after 5 minutes I transferred it into cold water for a minute. Then back in the darkroom I pulled the film out from the canister again and dried it with a hairdryer, and when done I rewound the film. The film was then developed at Asda, and scanned at The Vault in Brighton.
We do not discuss what we have each taken photographs of, so the results are always a surprise..

Taken from a double exposed roll where I shot the first layer under the flight path at Stansted Airport then added a second when the fair came to Cambridge.
Having snapped the umbrellas I flicked the MX button and wandered around looking for something to shoot over the top. Found what I was looking for next to the train station in Bath where this tunnel provided an ideal second layer. The placement turned out well but then that's what shooting doubles is all about for me - blind luck!
This is self film swap works by splitzer.I shot upper half in Hong kong at first. Then I shot lower half in Japan with Japanese Kimono lady at a beach.
