First roll with Lubitel 166 Universal. This is my first medium format camera, therefore I did not have any familiar film to load into. However, one man’s trash may be another man’s treasure, and the fate or the rota fortunae or the samsara or perhaps just ebay made me meet a person who gave up with analogue photography and who sent me few rolls of Lomography Black and White Negative 120 film 100 ISO almost only paying for the shipping costs. The roll was expired in 2012, moreover I do not know the storage conditions. It travelled all the way here during a cold winter. When arrived, I loaded the film, and without any light meter, but just my eyes, I explored. Then, I waited for few months before to develop the film. As you can see, something went wrong, and the frame number markings were impressed on the film…but this is fategraphy…and this is Lomography!

First test roll with the Blackbird Fly, trying to get used to its brilliant finder. This camera is equipped with a plastic lens and can shoot f7 or f11, with speed of 1/125 plus B. The BBF allows to expose the film in 36x36, 36x24 or 24x24 format. These shots are taken in 24x24. I am fascinated by the square format with its minimal but challenging composition. I was looking for a camera that combines the square format with the convenience of 35 mm, more carefree than my Zeiss Ikon Taxona.

This is how I spent my spring and summer. I designed and built my garden shed from scratch. Site preparation required that I take down several trees, approximately 15cm diameter, and then level the area by hand. When it came to framing and sheathing, I had the help of another 60+ female friend for a day, but I worked solo for all of the rest of the project. Fuji Provia 100F, expired in 2005, cross processed in Arista C-41.
Earlier this summer, my neighbor brought me a camera bag with several cameras and some old Kodak film. This is my first outing with the Vivitar 35ES, a solid little rangefinder with a 40mm 1:17 Vivitar lens. Agfa Scala X, expired in 2007, stand processed in Blazinal 1+100 for 80 minutes.
