A traditional festival for remembering the past ancestors. Usually occurs on early April. Every year our family comes to the grave of our ancestors and serve foods and fruits in front of their tomb. And then we scatter flower petals on the grave also burn 'heavenly' money and paper crates with things like clothes, cellphone, and gold coins in it. But of course they're paper made. Sometimes we also throw flower petals into the sea. It's an interesting festival because every member of the family would come. Although it's kinda sad actually.

Jakarta (2/10), 300 women workers from Panarub Dwi Karya (PDK) company, slams to Adidas representative office in Jakarta. They protest because PDK done lay off to 1300 women worker in this company. PDK is a company who produce sport shoes for Adidas and Mizuno didnt pay their salaries for 3 month, the company said they terminate those 1300 workers because they conducting ilegal strike on the factory.
Several month a a go 1300 women workers in PDK, lauch a strike to demand the application of province and sectoral minimum wage, freedom of association and Holyday compensation, and reform on the working place. Instead their demand being disscused the company sent mobile brigade from police dept, to crackdown the strike, the workers didnt give up, and many victims are fall on that day, July 2012.
Yesterday they come back to hold rally again, because one of their sister, Omih, single parent mother, are being arrested, accused as terrorist. Omih did sent the SMS to the management that there are bombs will be exploded in the factory, but its only a threat. Omih action is based on her disappointment to the mangament because they didnt give the permit of her right full annual leave on 2010, and because of that her children (11 month died due to serious illness), since she would like to bring her children to hospital. The situations become worsen, the effect of financial crisis are hitting her family, daily need is more expensive due to austerity measure from the government.
Today Omih, still in the prison, and the 1300 workers still in lay off status. Because of this, Cornell University is breaking they contract with Adidas as provider for sportswear of the university.
