So, let me set the scene. Now Imagine walking along the path above the shore, looking out to Harwich (the other side of the river) across a slightly misty estuary, the sun is low in the sky, but is shining bright. The tide is neither in nor out, there are a few sightseers scattered about. The conditions are perfect for shooting such a glorious location. If only it was my stage with Euro Team 1’s LC-A+…
…Oh yeah it is!!
On the day the LC-A+ arrived at mine for stage three of the LC-A RACE, I racked my brains for places to go that I’d never been before with a camera. One of the places I thought of was Landguard Point in Felixstowe, UK. As the most Southerly point of Felixstowe, it juts out into the opening to the River Orwell.
Felixstowe has one of the biggest Shipping Ports in the UK, and Landguard point is the best place to get a view of it. Also situated at Landguard Point is Landguard Fort, a few different pill boxes and air raid bunkers, and the usual groins and pebbles you get on an East Anglian Beach. The best time of day to go is mid afternoon, because there are slightly fewer people, the lighting is better, due to the position in the sun in the sky and depending on the tides, there may be things washed up on the beach that are interesting to photograph, like the starfish I found.
