Finding UCS is easy. Just look on a map of the UK > find Suffolk (bottom right (the bulgy bit)). Ipswich is probably the largest town in Suffolk, so once your in Suffolk, it is fairly well sign posted. Once in Ipswich, just follow signs for the University, or stop and ask for directions, although, this may cause confusion, as Suffolk accents are harsh and farmer-like.
On the map provided, i have marked where it is, however because of the age of the building, it is not shown on the map. When shooting at UCS, you will be awe-struck at the beauty of the building. it is made in the shape of a circle, with a slanting “Eco-roof” The front of the building is covered in geometric panels, with colored windows of different sizes.
If you shoot there at midday, you will get great lighting conditions and a beautiful view over the marina, where there are old and new buildings standing next to each other. This can create some incredible architectural contrast in photographs.
I am Proud to say i attend UCS, as a second year Graphic Design student and would encourage anyone to at least come to Ipswich to view the University even just for its architectural photogenic-ness.
Enjoy looking through the gallery and maybe see you at UCS soon?
