And it’s time that we learn more about this Lomographer from Germany. He has been in our Community for more than six years so the LomoGuru title is something he definitely deserves! His LomoHome features Japanese food and he’s online friends with hundreds of us here; yes sushi_9009 is this week’s LomoGuru! Come and read our interview with him below.
Name: André
Lomography Username: sushi_9009
Location: Berlin, Germany
Number of years as a Lomographer: Six years and nine months… Almost seven years!
Number of years in the Community: Six years and seven months!
Tell us something about yourself… What do you do for a living? What are your main interests?
I was born and is currently living in Berlin. I love my city and all the possibility you can get here. I like the summer, water, love, music, art, movies, books, comics, meeting friends, my family, and of course photography.
Share to us your most memorable experience in the Lomographic Community.
That’s easy! It was when I met the most wonderful girl, woman, lover, friend, photographer, dancer, and life artist Maria aka masha_njam two years ago and fell in love with. ♥
Have you actually met people in the Community that you now consider as close friends?
I met some and all of the meetings were great since I like to see how other Lomographers work with their cameras and shooting. It was with ck_berlin, lomodirk, and of course masha_njam! I also often meet bloomchen and shoujoai when she was in Berlin. Also gemma81de, fruchtzwerg_hh, vicuna and his girlfriend Kathi (vicuna was one of the first Lomographers i had contact with in the Community), primula, sopo_lomo, gepo1303, and sara81. I also want to name zonderbar from Lomography Germany and the folks from the Lomography Gallery Store in Berlin who are always very friendly and with an iced beer in the fridge for us, thank you! And oh I nearly forgot to name cameraO, also one of the first I got in contact here! There are still a lot of people from the Community whom I want to meet!
Do you think you’ll still be taking Lomographs in the next 5 years? Why?
I don’t know what it is in the next five days so i cannot say what’s in the next five years. But i will try, for sure.
What is your favorite Lomo camera and why? Do you have any memorable experiences while
using this camera?
The “Grande Dame," the Lomo LC-A! It was the beginning of my Lomography life. I won it in 2006 in a Backgammon game. I also really like shooting with the Horizon!
Please share your most favourite Lomographic photo that you took. Why this one?
It’s hard to choose only one but I like this a lot. It’s on the wall in my living room. I like the mood in this picture in which I sometimes feel.
Please share a Lomograph you wish you took and explain why.
There are a lot of talented photograhers in the Community so i cannot pick one and forget another. But I am a fan of lot of Lomographers, for sure!
What’s the best Lomographic or photography advice you think you have given?
I always just “clickclickclick” so nothing special. So I am not the real one to give any advice.
If there’s one song or movie that best describes your Lomo life, what is that and why?
Sometimes I feel like Hinge Thunder in this crazy world!
Is there any advice you can give to new analogue shooters?
Shoot, shoot, shoot!
