LomoAmigo Adam Goldberg and the LomoKino

We might have always thought that the LomoKino is a continuing path for our analogue lovin’… But then, upon seeing the LomoKino, Adam Goldberg or adamgoldberg just couldn’t pass the lovely analogue movie maker. Read on our interview with him and know more about the LomoKino as it invites more analogue lovers through out the world!

Tell us about yourself. What do you do for a living? What are your interests?

I act during the day (though often this means night) and at night (which often means the day). I also make music (Goldberg Sisters, LANDy), take photos, make music videos, and every eight years direct a movie (Scotch and Milk and I Love Your Work).

How long have you been a Lomographer and how did you find out about the Community?

I have been (and still continues) to be a user of 35mm films, instant, medium, large format, and 16mm movie but I only started with Lomography in the advent of the LomoKino.

Describe the LomoKino in five words.

How did you like shooting with the LomoKino?

Like all things of the analog variety: fraught with nerves and excitation.

What or who has inspired you to purchase and use the LomoKino?

I saw it on the site and it was clear from the start I needed to have one

Any funny or strange encounters you’ve had with it?

Nothing particularly strange but I couldn’t help but wonder if Homeland Security would intervene when I whipped it out and began frantically cranking it on the subway platform.

If you could shoot any person alive or dead (or imaginary) with your LomoKino, who would it be and why?

Well, since Billie Holiday was the first person to jump to mind, I’ll go with that. I think their fractured beauty would go well together.

Any future plans with your LomoKino? More shoots or a full-length film perhaps?

I’m not sure about a feature because of some carpal tunnel issues I could foresee being exacerbated. But I think it would make a great short documentary tool.

Your advice to future LomoKino users.

Stretch, breath from the diaphragm, and use a tripod.
