Hi. I'm Kris. I'm very very new to the whole world of Lomography (written 28th July 2011). I became aware of it At the begining of 2011, when I saw my housemate at the time had left her Holga 120CFN out. I was curious about what it was and googled the name. I found out about lomography through the Wiki page for Holga, and started to do searches on lomo on a semi regular basis.
Curiousity became a little too much and I decided to scour ebay for a camera. After unsuccessful bids on Holgas and Dianas, I ended up winning an Smena Symbol, and took it out soon after it arrived. I felt a re-invented excitement for that feeling of not knowing what to expect from photos, that building feeling of going and picking up a developed film from a photo shop.
It took me a few months till I got my first Holga, through Holgarama. I was looking for another camera, because I felt that I was going to experiment with different types of film and I would need more than one loaded camera at a time. I found that the site had a sale section, so I picked up a Holga 120N camoflauge. Unfortunately, to this date, I haven't had much chance to use it, but it goes with me pretty much every weekend I go somewhere so hopefully I'll be filling up the film and getting my first developed set within the next couple of weeks.
I'm hoping that I will find a new part of me, and get lost in a hobby that seems to have endless possibilities and only limited by the imagination. I see this whole thing as a life long experiment, and plays up to the whole idea that I have that sometimes the best things are found by just getting lost and wandering around. I'm excited about where I will go in the future and the jouney that I will have getting there. And, naturally, there will be a timeline of photos of my travel along the way :)
