Trying street phtography - Update

4

It is fun, documenting life on the street, even though it is hard to get nice shots, that you can publish, without having a bad conscience. You know, German law is very restrictive if it comes to taking pictures in public.

I admit, I had to crop a little, when I scanned some of the pictures. Sorry!

Enough of talking! Here are the results.

I’d love to get your feedback, on the pictures. If you like one, could you please share why? Thanks a million.

Cropping is no bad thing in my book, certainly you will not find a professional photographer who NEVER crops their work EVER, unless they are making a point of doing that. So I don't see why its such a terrible thing :) I certainly don't consider cropping to be 'Manipulation'.

The first two photos remind me very much of some of William Eggleston's colour photos, not only because of the subject and composition, but the warm colour tones. I particularly like the one of the group of people outside the building, as the blocks of colour and texture in the background stack up in repeating horizontal layers juxtaposed against the verticals of the group of people. If it we my photo, I would bring this out further by cropping a cm or so of the right hand end, to remove the white triangle at the top, and the bus in the background. :)
