Wie meine analoge Geschichte began / How my anlogue jorney began

Speziell mir fällt dies nicht sonderlich schwer, da es noch gar nicht lange her ist, dass ich in diesen Bann gezogen wurde. Vor etwa einem Jahr war ich Schüler auf dem „Zweiten Bildungsweg“ und machte gerade mein Abitur. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt war ich vollkommen von der Fotografie unbehelligt, selbst der Jahrzehnte lange Einfluss meines Vaters, eines passionierten und bis vor kurzem analogen Fotografen, ließ mich völlig kalt. Auch meine Liebste war schon immer, seit ich sie kenne fotobegeistert und hat viele tolle Bilder mit ihrer Dynax 40 gemacht. Hin und wieder benutzte ich die Kamera auch, dennoch kam nicht das rechte Feeling auf. Die Bilder sahen toll aus, doch irgendwie fand ich meine unvollkommene Erinnerung an diese Orte besser.

Im Internet sah ich irgendwann ein Bild, das mit einer Holga 120S aufgenommen wurde. Ich weiß nicht mehr, was es zeigte oder wo ich es gesehen habe, aber es gefiel mir sehr gut.

Eigentlich wollte ich mir daraufhin eine Holga 120S kaufen, bekam sogar son ein paar Filme von meinem Vater, ließ mich dann aber doch abschrecken: Wo bekomme ich Filme her? Wo kann ich diese entwickeln lassen? Oh Gott ist das umständlich mit diesem Wechselsack!

Ich verwarf meine Absicht und verschenkte die Filme an Mitschüler, die schon länger mit dem Mittelformat vertraut waren.

Zu diesem Zeitpunkt begab sich aber, dass KARSTADT im örtlichen Einkaufszentrum sich von seiner Multimedia & Foto-Abteilung trennte, die offenkundig nicht mit dem SATURN im gleichen Haus konkurrieren konnte. Eigentlich ging ich nur hin um mir ein paar Computerspiele zu gönnen, da die Artikel bis zu 70% reduziert waren. Auf einem Wühltisch für Einzelstücke sah ich sie dann aber: Meine La Sardina: Seapride! Die Verpackung war bereits geöffnet, also riskierte ich einen Blick in das Büchlein, das der Kamera beilag.

Das ist also Liebe auf den ersten Blick: Bilder, wie von einer Holga, aber mit normalem Film? Natürlich kaufte ich sie mir, zum Preis von 15€! Wiederum mein Vater gab mir meine ersten 35mm-Filme, Kodak 200 ISO

Tja, Ausbeute: 44,44…% nicht gerade das, was ich mir vorgestellt habe, aber gerade das erste Bild mit der Mohnblüte fand ich so toll, dass ich weiter machen wollte… Man sieht ja, wo das hingeführt hat. Ich habe viel gelernt in den letzten Monaten, möchte aber dieses Gefühl der ersten Filme festhalten. Dies gelingt mir, indem ich soviel unterschiedliche Kameras nutze, so kann ich die Gewöhnung herauszögen und es ist jedes mal fast so, als wäre ich wieder der blutige Anfänger vom Sommer 2013.

That is not a hard task to do for me, especially because it is not that lang ago, I fell under the spell off lomography.

About a year ago I was a student at the “second-chance education” and was doing my A-levels. At this time I was completely unmolested by photography, even the decades-long influence of my father, a passionate and, until recently, analog photographer, left me completely unimpressed. Also, my love has always, since I know her, been a photo enthusiastic and had taken lots of great pictures with her “Dynax 40”: http://www.lomography.de/photos/cameras/3336004-minolta-dynax-40​​. Every now and then I also used the camera, but did not come to the right feeling. The pictures looked great, but somehow I found my imperfect memory of these places better.

On the internet I saw at some point a picture taken with a Holga 120S. I do not remember what it was or where I saw it, but I liked it very much.

I actually wanted then to buy me a Holga 120S, and even got a couple of film from my father, but then i got scared: Where can I get additional films? Where can I develop it? Oh God is this awkward with that changing bag!

I rejected my intention and gave the films to classmates who were already more familiar with the medium format.

At this time, KARSTADT (a big store) at the local mall to get rid of it’s Multimedia & Photo division, which obviously could not compete with the SATURN (a big electronic store) in the same mall. Actually, I only went out to treat me to a few computer games, since the articles were up to 70% discount. But then I saw it on a rummage table for individual pieces: My La Sardina: Seapride! The package was already open, so I risked a glance at the booklet, that came with the camera.

So, that is love at first sight: Pictures, like taken with a Holga, but using “normal“ film? Of cause I had to buy it for it’s cheap price of only 15€ (20$)! Again my father gave me my first 35mm films, Kodak ISO 200.

Well, the crop of 44,44…% is not really, what I had in mind, but i liked especially the first picture withe the poppy flower so much, I went on shooting… You can see, where it guided me, in the last few months, but I don’t like to miss the feeling i had, shooting the first films. I keep it by using so many different cameras, that I can hardly get to familiar with them. It ist just like I would be still the raw recruit from summer 2013.
