Iwate meetings

Iwate trip~ Lomography 100. I wasn't originally planning to but I ended up going to Iwate prefecture because the airbnb host owned a corgi. Previously I was staying in the neighbouring prefecture of Akita to surprise my friend for her birthday. There is a definite lack of airbnbs and while I was booking them I misread the location and ended up choosing this one which was very far from the others. I actually realised this before going but since I'm a flexible traveler I decided to keep it in the itinerary and work around it. It turned out to be a great move because I got to see the most beautiful green forest views and explore a part of Japan which I hadn't really considered before. I stayed right near Mount Iwate with other travelers from England, China, and Thailand. My host spoke English really well but was kind enough to also let me practice my sub-par Japanese with him. On the first day he said he was taking some of the others to an Onsen which can only be reached by car and offered me a spare seat to come along. I couldn't enter the water due to the time of month but I explored the mountain farming area which it was located. It was my first time seeing Japanese cows. When the others came out of the bath, the first thing I had to say was 'Kaze wa ee ne', which roughly means "the wind is nice". It was one of those moments where I felt so lucky, to be able to breath such clean air and look at an amazing view. Photographs can only capture so much of that, but also suddenly felt grateful for my camera. The next day the host drove us 3 girls to Morioka station so I could continue my journey onto Yokote. It was such a unexpected journey and I was amazed that I suddenly met these people who I only knew for two days but we enjoyed it together.
